Marello in Student Section of Football Game

The Okaloosa County School District proudly announces that Niceville High School Principal Charlie Marello has been named the Northwest Florida Regional Director for the Florida Association of Secondary School Principals (FASSP).

FASSP, a Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA) division, is dedicated to supporting and empowering secondary school leaders across the state. Founded in 1977, FASA's mission is to enhance Florida's education quality by equipping administrators with the tools and resources needed to foster student success. Mr. Marello brings 15 years of experience as a secondary school principal to this leadership role. He is in his ninth year as principal of Niceville High School, following three years as principal at Destin Middle School and three years as principal at Emerald Coast Middle School in Walton County. A commitment to academic excellence, student achievement, and school-wide leadership has marked his tenure.

Charlie Marello"After 15 years as a secondary school principal, I've been fortunate to gain lots of experience trying to effectively lead, manage, and survive all different types of situations," said Marello. "If I can be of service to the FASSP by sharing or helping others through the knowledge I've gained, the lessons I've learned, or the mistakes I've made, I'm more than happy to do so." Superintendent Marcus Chambers commended Marello on this prestigious appointment, stating, "Charlie Marello is an outstanding leader who has made a tremendous impact on students, teachers, and the community. His dedication to excellence in education and his ability to mentor and support fellow administrators make him the perfect choice for this role. We are incredibly proud to have him representing Northwest Florida at the state level."

Marello's new role with FASSP will allow him to collaborate with school leaders across the region, advocate for secondary education, and contribute to the professional development of fellow administrators.
