The Fort Walton Beach Woman’s Club (FWBWC) was recognized at the May 28, 2024, School Board Meeting for their work in educating the public about child trafficking and posting stickers in schools and public places where victims could find information giving them a pathway to freedom. Linda Evanchyk, an Okaloosa County School Board member and retired educator, along with Cissy Wyninegar, also a retired educator, created this worthy project for the Okaloosa community and its residents.
The FWBWC has a long-term relationship with the School District and was the first group to start a free milk and lunch program in Okaloosa County. Each year the club gives two scholarships to young high school women from Fort Walton Beach schools. They have worked with the Kids Vote, Too program and the S3 program which works with Title One schools to make sure these students get whatever they need to be safe, secure, and successful. In the last five years, the FWBWC has donated over $10,000 in cash and gift cards and $15,000 in clothing to Okaloosa County schools through the S3 program.
Thank you for your long-term support to Okaloosa County Schools.
