Based on our scores, our team has been invited to compete
in the NAC Virtual National Middle School Division!

Congratulations to team members Jacob Milz, Zachary Ott, Selicia Nunez,
and Camille Golden (homeschooler). Ruckel Middle School has a long tradition
of Knowledge Master success -- it's great to continue the tradition!

Varsity MathCounts
"" MathCounts begins practice on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Please see Miss Bott in Portable 3 for more information and to sign up. Generally we take eight students to the District Competition. The winning team and one Alternate automatically advance to the State competition in Orlando, Florida. It is a wonderful opportunity for students who love Math to demonstrate their skills and be exposed to some amazing Mathletes.
Ruckel has gone to State from 2000 to 2014 and in 2016!

The 2020 Ruckel MathCounts Team participated in the
regional competition on February 1, 2020!
Go Rams!

Ruckel 8th grade student Manny Nunez took 2nd Place
in the individual/countdown round of the competition.
He will be moving on to compete in the state competition in March. Way to go!

National Junior Honor Society

Honor society logoNational Junior Honor Society members possess the virtues of scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service.
Students who are already members must maintain the same standards
or they will be put on probation for a semester.
Any student transferring from another NJHS Chapter must provide a copy of a membership card or certificate to Mrs. Tomassetti.

Membership invitations for National Junior Honor Society are extended to 7th and 8th grade students who are found to be eligible when semester grades are checked toward the end of January. A student must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.83 since entering Ruckel to be invited to join. Any student transferring from another NJHS Chapter must provide a copy of a membership card or certificate to Mrs. Tomassetti.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the 2020 Food Drive for Sharing and Caring. We were able to donate 1,617 food items this year, with Mrs. Duty's class leading the way -- 356 items donated!

Our advisors are Mrs. Tomassetti (lead faculty sponsor), Mrs. Amos,
Mr. A. Smith, and Mrs. Kirila.

Congratulations to the new members of NJHS who were inducted
on Thursday, March 5, at 7:00 pm in the Ruckel Gym.

As a service organization, we have a major community and school service project each year. The
Fall Food Drive is organized by the NJHS to encourage all students and faculty to contribute food items which are gathered at school and donated to Sharing and Caring in Niceville. The Candy Gram Sale is held in February. All proceeds are donated to help benefit the school in some way. Past donations have been used to purchase new PE equipment, library books, and additional landscaping.
