Instructors Teaching Out-of-Field

We are so proud of our teachers at Ruckel Middle School for working to better serve the needs of our students.

To Parents:
Teachers who have not met the requirment to be ESOL endorsed or certified are reported as being out-of-field. The following teachers are documenting the use of ESOL strategies to meet students' needs. These teachers are Highly Qualified and hold a valid teacher certificate. Once completion of requirements is satisfied for ESOL, they will no longer be reported as being out-of-field.

In compliance with Section 1012.42 Florida Statute, "when a teacher in a district school system is assigned teaching duties in a class dealing with subject matter that is outside the field in which the teacher is certified, outside the field that was the applicant's minor field of study, or outside the field in which the applicant has demonstrated sufficient subject area expertise, as determined by school board policy in the subject area to be taught, the parents of all students in the class shall be notified in writing of such assignment."

Your child's teacher holds a valid teacher certificate issued by the State of Florida and is working to place the appropriate certification on their certificate. Once the teacher places the appropriate certification on their teaching certificate, he or she will no longer be reported as out-of-field.
