A strong mentoring program is instrumental in increasing both teacher satisfaction and retention. The district’s program is based on the state’s Clinical Educator’s Model. Teachers new to Okaloosa County School District are partnered with an experienced school-level mentor who supports the mentee through a structured process providing information, guidance, and practical advice to develop or improve teaching practices.
