London Taylor, Niceville High School, recognized as the 2022 Distinguished Young Woman of Okaloosa County
London Taylor, a senior at Niceville High School, was recognized as the Distinguished Young Women of Okaloosa County for the Class of 2022 at the October 11, 2021, School Board meeting.
London was one of 11 high school senior girls from all high schools in Okaloosa County, and was evaluated in the categories of Scholastics, Interview, Talent, Fitness and Public Speaking. London won in the following categories - Talent, Interview and was crowned as the Overall Winner, winning a total of $1825.
The Captain of the Niceville High School Eaglettes Dance Team, London is the President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes as well as serves on the Ambassador Board, is Secretary of the Senior Class, member of National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Diamond Dolls, One Ocean Club, participates in Leadership Niceville High School and tutors students in math and science. London has also received the Anne T. Mitchell award for outstanding academics for all three years of high school.
London is the daughter of Rod Taylor and Kim Nihill-Taylor and the sister of brother, Logan. She hopes to attend the University of Florida with aspirations of becoming a pediatrician.
The mission of the Distinguished Young Women program is to empower high school young women by providing scholarship opportunities, developing self-confidence, and teaching crucial life skills needed for success in college and beyond.
