Laura Steele, Wright ES Recognized as the Recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching Award

Laura Steele, Kindergarten Math and Science Teacher at Wright Elementary School, was recognized at the November 12th School Board meeting for being the recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching from the White House in Washington, D.C., for teaching kindergarten students.

One of four recipients from Florida for 2017 and 2018, the award grants her $10,000 from the National Science Foundation, a certificate signed by the President, and a trip to Washington, D.C. where she and other STEM educators, participated in professional development and networked with fellow teachers from all 50 states and U.S. territories.
