Area Educators Recognized for Earning Google Educator, Apple Teacher, and Microsoft Innovative Educator Designations

Area Educators were recognized at the August 26, 2019, School Board Meeting for earning their Google Educator, Apple Teacher, or Microsoft Innovative Educator designations.

“It's my distinct pleasure to present to you a number of exceptional educators tonight,” said Liz Bears, the District’s Instructional Technology Trainer. “These teachers have recently achieved recognition for their efforts to become certified in either Apple Microsoft or Google Education Systems.  The criteria for these awards are set by the companies themselves.  The teachers have come together or worked on their own to accomplish this. We've done face-to-face training. We've done online training and then studying on their own.  Over the course of the last year about 35 teachers have participated in one form or the other and tonight we have about a little less than ten who have completed it and are ready to receive their award.  In each case, they studied they practiced and then they were tested on skills as well as knowledge.  You might wonder why this s such an important thing, but teachers who take the time to work and better their skills are going to be impacting our students not only in their classes today but also in the job the jobs and the workforce of tomorrow.”
