School Board Approves New Administrator
The Okaloosa County School Board approved Rosia Cahn as the Assistant Principal of Bruner Middle School at the September 9, 2019, School Board Meeting.
Rosia Cahn accepted her first teaching position in Okaloosa County in 1995 after receiving her Elementary Education degree from the University of West Florida. Shortly thereafter, the military shipped her family to Okinawa, Japan. She immediately accepted a position at a Department of Defense Dependents School (DODDS). Over the next few years, she taught various grade levels at several school districts around the world. Once her husband was close retiring, they moved back to Okaloosa County in 2002 where she accepted a teaching position at Florosa Elementary School. She has enjoyed being part of the Florosa Elementary School family for 17 years.
In 2013, Cahn accepted the Title I Math position at Florosa Elementary School and quickly created Florosa Elementary School’s Math Lab. Her program was instrumental in moving Florosa Elementary School to academic success. She receives the most joy when she is teaching math, analyzing data, and teaching teachers how to teach.
Throughout her career, has held many leadership roles. In 2018, she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. She is honored to become a school administrator at Bruner Middle School where she can serve and help lead the Spartans to success.
Cahn married her high school sweetheart, Ben, in 1983. They are proud parents of three grown children: Kevin, Jason, and Angela. When she stepped into her classroom for the first time 24 years ago, she knew she had stepped into her purpose – being an educator, making a positive difference in the lives of our future leaders.
