A Letter from the Principal

My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the past 20 years as a classroom assistant, social studies teacher, high school soccer coach, and assistant principal in the Okaloosa County School District.  In each of my roles, I have sought to ensure the success of each student and the school, by providing the best instructional and extracurricular opportunities possible.  Similarly, it is my number one priority at Meigs to ensure that every student receives a well-rounded education.

A well-rounded education includes outstanding instruction from top-notch teachers, as well as extracurricular opportunities and supports that enable students to develop character, cultivate passions, and explore the world outside of the classroom. When considering the opportunities available to students, I often look to my own experiences and involvement efforts that influenced who I am today.  As the Principal at Meigs, I am committed to ensuring that student needs and interests help shape instruction and extracurricular opportunities.  Through this shared commitment to learning, I am excited to see students engaged in debate in the classroom, scoring the winning point on the field, performing in the musical concert, or any other area that piques student interest and passion.

Most importantly, an excellent education is not possible without the great collaboration of students, parents and staff.  Meigs has a rich school history built around the highest standard of excellence in all we do.  There is immense enthusiasm and pride for our school and community.

I look forward to the great Wildcat year ahead of us!  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas that you would like to discuss.

Kind regards,

“You are good. But it is not enough just to be good. You must be good for something. You must contribute good to the world. The world must be a better place for your presence. And the good that is in you must be spread to others....”
