Fit Feet Program
Fit Feet is a walking program designed to encourage all Okaloosa County School District employees to be physically active. Employees wishing to participate will record the number of steps walked each day using the walking log (use a smart phone/pedometer or convert distance walked using 2,000 steps/mile). The Fit Feet Equivalents document can be used to convert other activities (e.g. biking, swimming or yoga – but NOT office work) into their step equivalent.
The Fit Feet program begins on September 1, 2014, and ends on May 17, 2014.
At the end of the month, turn in walking logs to the Fit Feet/Wellness contact person at employee’s school or worksite. Be sure to turn it in by the 5th of each month. Updates will be sent out on a monthly basis so that school and individual comparisons can be made. Nothing motivates like a little friendly competition…except maybe money.
Speaking of money…cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishing schools/worksites and individuals. The $300 prize for the team with the highest average mileage per employee will give smaller schools a shot at some prize money.
Last year’s big winners were:
- 1st Place Southside Center
- 2nd Place Kenwood ES
- 3rd Place Lewis School
- Per Capita Northwood SNA
- 1st Place Sarah Baltimore
- 2nd Place Kelley Jagielski
